PREREQUISITE: Passing Mathematics Placement Exam or Passing Math 020 with
grade of C or better.
TEXTBOOK: College Algebra, by Lil/Hornsby/Schneider, 7th
edition.
COURSE DESCRIPTION: The study of the properties of real numbers,
algebraic
expressions, radicals, equations, and inequalities in on variable,
relations and functions
including polynomial and rational functions.
MAKE-UP POLICY: Quizzes: There will be NO make-ups. Test: Any
student with an
excused absence MUST contact the instructor PRIOR to
class soarrangements can be
made for an appropriate make-up time.
EVALUATION PROCEDURES:
1. There will be four 100-point tests during the session, the
lowest of which will be dropped.
The test questions will be similar in format to the examples in the
book and the homework problems.
2. Periodic ten point quizzes will be given which will be accumulated
in order to compute
as a 100 point test score.
3. The final examination will count for 100 points.
FINAL GRADE: The highest possible cumulative point total for
the quizzes, tests, and final
examination is 500 points. Take your number and divide by 5 to calculate
your grade by the scale below.
A: 90-100 B: 80-89 C: 70-79 D: 60-69 F: Below 60
