Enhancing a Presentation with Pictures, Shapes, and WordArt
I. Click Start / All Programs / Microsoft
Office / PowerPoint
Display a new blank document in the PowerPoint Window.
II. Click Design / Verve Theme
III. Type Yoga
and Meditation for the title. Also,
type Unify Your Mind,
Body,
and Spirit for the subtitle.
IV.
Insert the 1st text slide by clicking Home / New Slide / Picture
with Caption
Type Relax and
Restore for the title. Press CTRL + ENTER to move to the
caption placeholder.
Type Calm the mind and boost
oxygen levels in the brain. for caption.
V.
Insert the 2nd text slide by clicking Home / New Slide / Content
with Caption
Type Strengthen Body
for the title. Press CTRL + ENTER
Type Increase
flexibility and tone muscles. for
caption.
VI. Insert the 3rd text slide by clicking Home / New Slide / Blank
VII. Click Design / Theme Color / Oriel
VIII. Save the file as Yoga in your USB flash drive.
Insert Pictures & Format Pictures
Download the following pictures: Right-click on picture / save picture as

1. Click on slide 3 / Insert / Picture / locate Hands Yoga picture and insert it to slide 3.
2. Insert Green Tank Meditation picture to slide 2.
3. Insert Arch Yoga picture to slide 4. Move picture to upper triangle area. Click Corrections / Brightness: +20% Contrast: -40%.
Apply Picture Styles:
1. Click picture of slide 4 / Picture Tools - Format / Soft Edge Rectangle.
2. Click picture of slide 3 / Picture Tools - Format / Reflected Perspective Right.
3. Click picture of slide 2 / Picture Tools - Format / Reflected Rounded Rectangle.
Apply Picture Effects:
1. Click picture of slide 2 / Picture Effects / Glow
/ Orange, 11 pt glow, Accent color 1.
2. On picture of slide 2 / Picture Effects /
Bevel / Angle.

3. Click picture of slide 3 / Picture Effects / Glow
/ Orange, 11 pt glow, Accent color 1.
4. On picture of slide 3 / Picture Effects /
Bevel / Convex.
5. On picture of slide 3 / Picture Border /
Weight / 1 1/2 pt.
6. On picture of slide 3 / Picture Border / Change color to
Red, Accent 3.

7. Click picture of slide 2 to get picture border weight at 1 1/2 pt and color to Red, Accent 3 as slide 3.
8. Click on picture of slide 3 / change size as below.

9. Click on picture of slide 4 / change height to 3 inches and move the picture to the location as below.

10. Save the file again.
Formatting Slide Backgrounds
1. Right-Click on slide 4 / Format Background / Picture or texture fill / sand

2. Right-Click on slide 1 / Format Background / Picture or
texture fill / File / select
Sunrise Yoga picture from
your USB drive to insert it as background of slide 1.
Also, change the transparency to
10% to slide 1 and 50% to
slide 4.
3. Click on slide 3 / Design / Background Style / Style 11 / right-click / Apply to selected slides.

4. Click on slide 2 / Design / Background Style / Style 10 / right-click / Apply to selected slides.
Formatting Title and Content Text
1. Highlight subtitle of slide 1 / click Home / select Papyrus font / add shadow on it / change color to Light Yellow, Text 2.

2. Triple-Click the caption of slide 2 /
format the caption into the following:
- Papyrus font
- font size 20
- Bold
3. With the slide 2 caption text still selected, double-click the
Format Painter button.
Click Slide 3 / Triple-click the caption to apply the same
format from last slide /
Press ESC to turn off the Format Painter feature.
Adding and Formatting a Shape
1. Click slide 1 / Home / Shapes / Sun / Insert and resize it then move it to the top of O. Duplicate another sun to the end of O as below.

2. Click slide 4 / add an oval shape and resize into a circle.

Type Mind in the shape and format it to Papyrus font, color in Blue Gray, Background 2, font size 24.
Duplicate two more balls with Body, Spirit on each of them. Add a triangle to connect them as below.

Using WordArt
Click slide 4 / Insert / WordArt button / Blue, Accent 2, Double Outline -Accent 2.

Type Balance.


Add Transition:

Speed 3.00
Apply to all.
View your presentation.
Save file and send it to your instructor.
